When is you car service due?
Servicing schedules vary by manufacturer, model and year and remembering or knowing when your car is due a service is not always easy or obvious. You might get a letter from your local garage or franchised dealer, your on-board computer might flash up a ‘Service Due’ warning note, or you might not receive any notifications at all.

Where should you take your vehicle for a service?
We know it can be confusing to decide where to take your car to when it’s due a Service or repair. Choices include your local independent garage, or a franchised dealer.

These are privately owned, independent businesses. Some may use original manufacturer parts, and should operate to high standards. They may also be members of industry schemes such as Motor Codes and have trained technicians.
Authorised Service Centre
These centres operate under license from the manufacturer to carry our car servicing, maintenance and repairs to manufacturer approved standards, and using use original manufacturer parts. They may also be members of industry schemes such as Motor Codes and have trained technicians.
These garages are the national chains who offer a variety of services such as MOTs, Servicing, tyres and brakes and are recognised brands. They may also be members of industry schemes such as Motor Codes and have trained technicians.
